Exporting from Ally.

About a minute, on Ally's website. Berm has been tested on a file laid out like the one it gives you.

The steps

  1. Sign in at ally.com and choose your checking account.
  2. Scroll to Transaction History and choose the download icon.
  3. Pick the dates.
  4. Choose CSV and download. Every file is named transactions.csv, so rename it for the account.

How far back: Up to 18 months of activity.

What the file holds

  • One amount column: money out is negative.
  • Dates year first (2026-08-13).
  • No running balance, so Berm asks for your balance once, on a slider.

Then

Open Berm and choose the file on the Import card. It is read on your device and never uploaded; Berm says what it found in each column before anything is added, and importing the same file twice changes nothing.
