Exporting from Bank of America.

About a minute, on Bank of America's website. Berm has been tested on a file laid out like the one it gives you.

The steps

  1. Sign in at bankofamerica.com and open your checking account.
  2. Choose Download, above the transactions.
  3. Pick a statement period, or a range of dates.
  4. For the file type choose Microsoft Excel Format, which saves a CSV file.
  5. Choose Download and save the file.

The file opens with a short summary of totals above the transactions. Berm skips it and reads the table under it.

What the file holds

  • One amount column: money out is negative.
  • Dates month first (08/13/2026).
  • A running balance, so Berm reads your balance from the file itself.

Then

Open Berm and choose the file on the Import card. It is read on your device and never uploaded; Berm says what it found in each column before anything is added, and importing the same file twice changes nothing.
