Exporting from CIBC.

About a minute, on CIBC's website. Berm has been tested on a file laid out like the one it gives you.

The steps

  1. Sign in to CIBC Online Banking.
  2. Under My Accounts, choose Download Transactions.
  3. Pick the account and the dates.
  4. Choose the CSV option, then Download Transactions.

The file has no header row, just the transactions. Berm works out which column is which from what is in them.

What the file holds

  • Money out and money in in separate columns.
  • Dates year first (2026-08-13).
  • No running balance, so Berm asks for your balance once, on a slider.

Then

Open Berm and choose the file on the Import card. It is read on your device and never uploaded; Berm says what it found in each column before anything is added, and importing the same file twice changes nothing.
